Michael Schur was inspired to create "A Man On the Inside" after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent”
Plot
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. He says, "The Mole Agent" is a powerful documentary because it makes people feel incredibly similar regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very reduced way as, “I have to call my mom.”" We tried to do a similar thing on our show with the tone: Basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of wanting to call moms?.
Remake of El agente topo (2020)
As I write this, I’m currently on episode 5. This show is hilarious, thought-provoking, and genuinely thrilling.
Ted Danson is brilliant as usual
The rest of the cast, interesting and fascinating in this “Who Did It” series. I’m both equally into the crime aspect as I am into the human aspect of loneliness.
The comedy is beautifully woven into the genuine laughter
Each of us, regardless of age, brings something new to the table. I feel the warmth of the message without any joy.
I hope this show continues on the ride that I’m really enjoying
Bravo to the writers, actors, and directors who have made this a gem of a show.
