They essentially manage the land and secure leases so they can extract oil and gas. As foremen on the construction site, they build roads, worker dormitories (camps), assemble excavation equipment, and drill wells, especially in remote locations. They are also part of the Fixer, Problem Solver, and Facilitator..
I’ve been fully engaged with everything Sheridans name has been associated with since Sicario
Seeing what he’s capable of from his incredible screenplays and films directed in the past, I have to admit that I’ve been a little disappointed with Landman’s four episodes so far. Maybe it’s because I had very high expectations coming in with all the big name actors, but also getting into the boomtown lifestyle after a wonderful expanding ranch enterprise, but I feel like Sheridan is having too much fun with incorporating the extravagance of the scene with Tommy’s ex-wife Ali Larter and his daughter Michelle Randpolh, which was excellent in 1923. I don’t see any subplots involving adding anything significant to move the plot forward, it’s best when Sheridan steps on the action drama pedal, as seen in this second season of Special Ops: Lioness or in all of his previous dramas.
It gets serious
Knowing what he’s capable of is frustrating, but with only four episodes left I still hope he uses Jon Hamm more and this show picks up. The mother-daughter scenes together are very underwhelming and I hate to say it, but Randolph is just too over the top and I can’t like her at all, I hope this isn’t another project for its own entertainment value, like Tulsa King s2 into a comedy punctuated by brief moments of great drama (I loved the first season. I know Sheridan has his own umbrella and has done so many shows, but I wish he would focus on quality over quantity because this series has a chance to be excellent).
