Plot
Nate Busko has spent 12 of his 17 years running from his past
Tired of being shunted from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eating corn husks and using track practice as an opportunity to shower.
Alone, he’s haunted by fragments of traumatic memories from his past
By nightfall, he couldn’t be more different from the confident, cocky personality he was at school.
Enter Stan Deen, a popular high school drama teacher with his own issues
He sees Nate’s latent talent and need for healing and guidance where no other teacher has, and sets out to help.
But in a shocking turn of events, Nate is arrested in the middle of school and taken away in handcuffs
Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only arranges bail, but agrees to take him home, despite the raised eyebrows he gets from his fellow teachers.
Stan is willing to do whatever it takes to help his troubled student
But the question is: can you really help someone if you are not willing to help yourself?
