Taste of Mango, Chloe Abrahams’ debut film, is an all-encompassing, hypnotic, and urgently personal meditation on family, memory, identity, violence, and love. It centers on three extraordinary women: the director’s mother, Rozana; her grandmother, Jean; and the director herself. Their stories are by turns difficult and exhilarating, testifying to the intricate and ever-changing nature of inheritance, and how we hurt and protect those we love.
