Plot
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcast crew is brought in to cover the hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. All believable, with hilarious acting in the right places and a pace and running time that doesn’t let you get carried away.
They did a solid job of not telegraphing plot points
For someone who doesn’t really know the story, the details of what went down really interested me. Some might find the lack of scene changes tiresome, but I think it worked in this case.
Making you think without being preachy
I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and like they were there on this eventful day. They touched on the political and emotional elements nicely.
A nice touch
The mixing of footage from the actual event, including the broadcast footage, definitely draws you in more. While it’s not a film I plan to watch again and again, it’s a very well-made piece that I recommend to friends who enjoy these types of films.
