Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”
Plot
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life by answering a private detective ad and becomes the mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. A remake of the film El Agente Topo (2020).
Before you know it, you’re so involved that you just have to figure out who it is!
To be honest, I admit that at first glance I wasn’t sure that the show would interest me in the slightest, but somehow it managed to lure me in. All the characters are very easy to fall in love with, and they are so recognizable to the person in your life.
My favorite quote from the series is: “Every big event in your life, when you look back, seems like a miracle” Very poetic, because it resonates with each of us
It’s also a gentle reminder that we’re all here trying to do the same thing, live and enjoy life, so we should do our best to understand and, above all, be kind to each other. I will also admit that it was a little strange to see Ted Danson in this role, especially if you are used to him as the character “Sam” on Cheers; But from the very beginning, “Charles” tugs at your soul strings, leaving no sad reminder of “Sam”.
A bitter but gentle reminder that the Father probably doesn’t have favorites
I hope you watch it and learn and empathize with the everyday problems that some people in our society face every day. It’s a nice change of pace that doesn’t make you feel guilty about watching another “crime” show.
